As many of you have noted, I haven’t updated this page in quite some time, and I apologize. I’ve received a flood of emails asking whether The Bone Tree (Volume One of Unwritten Laws) goes on sale this month. I’m afraid that it does not. The book was delayed after my traffic accident, but the company that publishes my audio books did not pull their Amazon listing, and this has led to the confusion.
I thought everyone knew about my car accident, but apparently not. The impact tore my aorta, broke a lot of major bones, and destroyed part of my right leg. I’m lucky to be alive, and I’m still in a wheelchair much of the time. I owe a lot of people and technology for helping to save my life (first and foremost my Audi S8—which is now scrap metal), and I will thank them all in a major update soon.
Right now I’m working frantically to finish The Bone Tree this week, for the earliest possible release in 2012. The folks at Scribner have been very understanding, but it’s time to get this book in the pipeline. My hope is that Volumes One and Two will both be published this year. The best news I can give you is that this massive story, split into two parts, is a Penn Cage novel on the level of The Quiet Game. In other words, I think it will be worth the wait.
Thanks for all the emails. They keep me going during times of adversity.
Greg
